I said it. I admit, I sometimes crack my own self up.
In all seriousness, the first weekend in December is special and I look forward to this event every year!! It's our Shop with a Hero and Stuff a Truck Event. While I run Allegro Business Products, I also have the privilege to be a part of an amazing group of volunteers, Holly Springs Police Foundation, who supports the Holly Springs Police Department. I believe big in supporting our communities first responders.
Each year we partner with Holly Springs Wal-Mart, The Home Depot, Community Impact FBC of Holly Springs and the community to help give Christmas to deserving children and families who need a help up.
We invite first responders who work with and in Holly Springs. This year in addition to our awesome HSPD Officers, we had amazing first responders from Cherokee E-911, Cherokee County School Police, Cherokee County Search & Rescue and Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services who shopped with our children.
We again this year had Ms. Cindy leading our HSPD wives and friends wrapping every one of the presents for the children.
Each child and family is identified through counselors at Holly Springs Cherokee County Schools. Ms. Ann, a retired CCSD Administrator and Foundation volunteer with our board heads up working with the schools, scheduling families and brought some of her amazing friends to volunteer to help the children shop!!
Our outdoor crew makes sure all the gifts get loaded in the families vehicle along with meeting & greeting outside where we Stuff the Truck.
Thank you to all of our partners, first responders, volunteers and the community for supporting such an amazing program every year. Every year we are able to grow and help more children. This year we added a First Responder Parade bringing Santa to the Wal-Mart for the event. I've posted the video and some pics from the day. *We do have permission to post the children.*
The day goes by in a flash but I try to remind all of our volunteers to take a moment to look around and watch the amazing things happening. It will truly put a smile on your face while bringing tears to your eyes!!!
I can't end this post without saying thank you to all my board members for the hard work they put in year after year volunteering and supporting the Holly Springs Police Department. Your hard work does not go unnoticed and is very appreciated!!!
